Ruth A. (Fletcher) Stetz, 91 of Manchester, CT, loving and devoted wife for fifty seven years of the late John Stetz, died Thursday February 22, 2018 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on December 24, 1926, daughter of Fred and Mabel (Cowell) Fletcher. She was raised in West Virginia and came to Manchester with her family in 1961. Prior to retiring in 1983 she had been employed at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company for nineteen years.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. James Church in Manchester, and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Ruth is survived by her daughter and three sons, Janet Dexter and her husband David of Coventry, John A. Stetz of Tolland, Ronny Stetz and his wife Holly of Sun City Center, FL, and Jeffrey Stetz and his companion Mary Ann Packard of Manchester; nine grandchildren, John, Mark, Brenton, Timothy, Kimberly, Scott, Jay, Jackie, and Amy; fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Huff of Alexandria, Virginia, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by a grandson, Jason Stetz, great granddaughter Taylor Robinson, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Stetz, brothers Jack, Bill and Bob Fletcher and sisters Jean Brooks and Patti Ann Fletcher.
Visiting hours for family and friends are Friday, Mar. 2, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Mar. 3, 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester.
