Rosemary G. Lewis

Rosemary G. Lewis, 85 of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at an area convalescent home.
Rosemary was born on August 11, 1930 in Endicott, NY, daughter of Earl F. and Ermina (Carrington) Lewis. She was raised in Endicott and became the Park and Recreation director for the Town of Endicott. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Church of the Nazarene in Endicott and was a leader in the Union, NY Girls Club. She came to Manchester in 1975 and joined the Manchester Church of the Nazarene, where her brother-in-law, Rev. Neale McLain was pastor.
Rosemary is predeceased by three brothers, Earl Jr., Richard, and William Lewis, and two sisters, Dorothy (Lewis) Saunders and Gladys (Lewis) McLain. She is also predeceased by nephews Lawson Jr. and William Saunders.
Aunt Rody is survived by two nephews, Rev. Kevin N. McLain and his wife Robin of Smyrna, DE, and Martin G. McLain and his wife Linda of Manchester. She also leaves six precious grand nieces and nephews, and five of their dear children. She is remembered for her gift of love and understanding.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, April 2, at the Manchester Church of the Nazarene, 218 Main Street, Manchester. A visiting time for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private in the Riverside Cemetery in Endicott, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Christian School, 236 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06042.
