Rosemarie (Bongiovanni) Kunz, 81, of Stonington, formerly of Manchester, loving wife of 59 years to John F. Kunz died peacefully Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London from complications of ALS. She was born in Hartford, September 5, 1934, daughter of the late Victor and Josephine (Brullo) Bongiovanni. Rosemarie was a graduate of Hartford Public High School and had attended the former Hillyer College. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a travel consultant with LaBonne Travel and Airway Travel for many years. Rosemarie was a longtime member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester. She was an avid oil painting artist and enjoyed traveling worldwide. In addition to her husband, Rosemarie is survived by her three children John F. Kunz Jr. and Jean Frigon of Coventry, Sharon A. and Dr. Alexander Miano of Stonington and James W. Kunz and Katherine Freschlin of Coventry, her brother Joseph Bongiovanni and his wife Pamela of Wethersfield. She also leaves her three beloved grandchildren: Second Lieutenant U.S.A.F. Michael Miano attending the Uniformed Services Medical School in Bethesda, MD, Scott Miano of Stonington and Raven Kunz of East Windsor. In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was predeceased by her sister Grace DelCiampo. Rosemarie's family would like to thank her longtime friend Sandra Dunn for her loving selflessness. The family would also like to show their appreciation for Masonicare Hospice of East Lyme, especially: Dawn, Meghan, Bob and Felicia along with doctors Jon Gaudio and Brian Williams, both of Lawrence & Memorial Medical Group, for their compassionate care. Calling hours will be held Friday, August 19, from 6-8pm at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St. Manchester. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, August 20, at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 41 Park St. Manchester. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of CT, 4 Oxford Rd. Unit D-4, Milford, CT 06460 or to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Book of Remembrance.
