Ronald Winston Churchill Church, 89, formally of Bolton CT, Key Largo FL, Jamestown RI, and Virginia died peacefully on August 15th, 2022. He was born June 6th, 1933, grew up in Columbia Station, Ohio, and was the son of the late Gertrude Campbell Churchill and Lorne W. Churchill. Following school, Church, as he was called by his friends, enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His home base was Quonset Point, Rhode Island where he met and married Helen Marie Kastner on September 8th, 1956. In 1957, they settled in Bolton, CT. Church had a long successful career in the construction business working for Moores Lumber and Annulli Construction. In 1974, he then established DMC Construction Co., Inc as President with his wife Marie. With the help of Ron, Marie and her daughter Kerry opened West Reach Construction Co., Inc. Some of his notable work included Rite Aid Pharmacys, McDonalds, Hamilton Sundstrand, UTC, Bolton Library, and Ellington Ridge Country Club and many others. In 1992, he and Marie retired. Church was a Cleveland Browns fan, season ticket holder for the Hartford Whalers, a member of the Manchester softball league, and the Army & Navy Club. Church enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, boating, fishing for Marlin off the coast of Florida, clamming in Rhode Island, singing, and card games with family and friends. But more than anything, big Church enjoyed sitting on the deck in Jamestown, RI overlooking Narragansett Bay with a Dewars in hand, watching the sunset, laughing and telling stories while enjoying his favorite tunes. After his wife Sade, as he affectionately called her, passed in 1995, Church would spend winters in Key Largo and split summers in Jamestown and Virginia. Church is survived by his two daughters, Kerry and husband Martin Hainsey of Bolton CT, Kim and husband Steve Tantillo of Stafford Springs CT. His grandchildren, Ron Hainsey and wife Hayley of Jupiter FL, Anthony Tantillo and girlfriend Erin Walsh of Worcester MA, and Katie Corsini and husband Gui of New York City. Great grandchildren Anthony (AJ) Tantillo, Alexa Hainsey, Jaxon Hainsey, Melana Hainsey, and Nicholas Corsini. Longtime companion Olive Marie Bright, her children Don and his wife Angie Bright of Virginia, and Cathy Reed of North Carolina. Church also leaves many nieces and nephews. Church is predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Helen Marie, and his sisters Jean (Leonard) Kral, and Evelyn (Alan) Thompson. Church also leaves behind numerous great friends who he often spoke of fondly. He will forever be remembered for his loud laughs bouncing off Narragansett Bay at night. Church had a life well lived.
