Robert K. Willis

Robert Keeney Willis, 81, lifelong resident of Manchester, loving husband for fifty-eight years of Diane L. (Sweet) Willis, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford with his family by his side. He was born in Manchester December 7, 1933 and was the son of the late Donald and Margaret (Henry) Willis. He graduated from Manchester High School, Class of 1951, and served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. Prior to retiring Bob worked at the family business, the former Don Willis Garage, for forty years and then worked in the parts department at Manchester Honda for several years. He loved athletics and participated in many adult league sports, including baseball. He was an avid golfer and played in two leagues at the Manchester Country Club. Bob was also a longtime member of the Manchester Army-Navy Club. With his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son, Georgia Gaudette and her husband Joe of Manchester, Brenda Fazzino and her husband Wayne of Wallingford, and Ken Willis and his wife Kelly of Matthews, NC; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Lisa, Darren, Evan, Ryan, Sarah, and Ella; and his step-brother and step-sister, John "Jack" Willis and Gail Zanlungo, both of Manchester. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a special aunt and uncle, Emilie and Merritt Blanchard. Visiting hours are Sunday, March 15, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester with Words of Remembrance at 4 PM.
