Robert L. Vaughan Sr., 79 of Manchester beloved husband of Donna (Kanne) Vaughan passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at Hartford Hospital with his family at his side. Robert was born October 17, 1937 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, son of the late Leo M. and Tekla R. (Gallick) Vaughan and has resided in Manchester since 1977. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service from 1957 to 1963. He continued his education earning his Masters' Degree and was an engineer employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft East Hartford retiring after 32 years of service. Robert was a communicant of Church of the Assumption, a Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Campbell Council No. 573, Past President and life member of Manchester Sportsman Association, an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife Donna, Robert is survived by a son, Robert L. Vaughan Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Vernon, three daughters, Rosemary Weigold and her husband, Kerry of Tolland, Donna Jean Laterreur and her husband, Michael of Manchester, Linda Lacourciere of Meriden, six grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Laterreur, Kristin Laterreur, Jeffrey Laterreur, Lauren Lacourciere, Sara Lacourciere, Joshua Vaughan, two great-grandchildren, Abby and Owen, a sister, Linda Williams of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, several nieces and nephews and their families. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:30 am at Church of the Assumption 29 South Adams Street Manchester.
