Robert Buckless Regius Sr

Robert (Bob) Buckless Regius Sr., 85, of Fort Pierce, FL, formally of Keene, NH, Manchester and South Windsor, CT, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, October 10, 2015. Born in Providence, RI, on June 10, 1930, the son of the late Adelbert and Gladys (Buckless) Regius. Bob served in the US Navy aboard the USS Bordelon as a chef. He worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford and subsequently put his entrepreneurial ambitions into establishing Manchester Oil Heat, Inc. He later began distributing CAM 2 Racing Fuel to the race tracks throughout New England. Bob served on the board of directors for Savings Bank of Manchester and was a proud supporter of the 100 Club of Connecticut. He was a Master Mason and member of the Fayette Lodge 69 A.F. & A. M. in Ellington, CT, as well as a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Fraternal Organization. Bob will be remembered as a Nascar Racing enthusiast, and a great admirer of antique cars and his passion for the sea. Boating along the New England coast and navigating the intercostal waterways down to Florida was what he loved to do. But most of all Bob will be remembered for his implicit generosity. Bob is survived by his six children, Kathleen Draghe, Rhonda Olschefskie and husband, David all of Manchester, Sheila Thornton and husband, Jeffrey of Enfield, Richard Regius and wife, Linda of Farmington, Kerry Regius of Acworth, GA and Robert Regius Jr. of Cumming, GA. He leaves his grandchildren, Aleah and husband Matthew, Rachel and husband Nicolas, Shawn, Richard Jr., Michelle, Patricia, Morgan, Brandon, Conor, his great grandson, Evan, his sister Sarah Bronson and his special caregiver Teresa (Missy) Cruz. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Brown. He leaves many close friends in NH, including David, Doug, and Jason. Calling hours will be Friday, October 16, from 4-7 PM at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct 17 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at East Cemetery in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
