Robert S. ''Lazz'' Lazzerini

Robert S. "Lazz" Lazzerini of Manchester, ended his brave battle with cancer on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Born in Hartford on February 27, 1950, Bob attended local Hartford schools and graduated from South Catholic High School in 1968. Bob also attended the University of Connecticut, earning a Bachelor of Science Degrees in both economics and accounting. Later Bob received a Master of Science degree in Health Care Finance from UConn and had also successfully passed his CPA exam. Having worked for various accounting firms, health care facilities and the State of Connecticut early in his career, Bob spent the last fifteen years specializing in the management and turn around of distressed health care facilities for the State of Connecticut's Superior Court, the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court and various public and private REIT's and investor groups. In that role, Bob was able to save the jobs of countless employees, prevent the needless transfer of frail patients and residents, and make a significant difference in people's lives. An avid golfer, Bob loved virtually all sports, with the Chicago Cubs as his favorite team to root for. Bob was also a very generous man during his lifetime. Contributing both his time and financial support to various organizations he believed in. This was especially true with causes that affected children and pets. Bob was predeceased by his father Evo Lazzerini, mother Bridget Lazzerini and sister Carol Lazzerini. He is survived by his sister Karen Pratson, her husband Stanley and his niece Linda, all of South Windsor. Bob is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday January 7, 2016 from 3:30 pm until 6 pm with a prayer service immediately following at 6 pm. at Holmes Funeral Home located at 400 Main St., Manchester, CT. Burial will be private. A memorial luncheon in Celebration of Bob's Life will be held Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Manchester Country Club 305 South Main Street Manchester, CT 06040.
