Robert Hadden, 83, of Storrs, formerly of Vernon and Manchester, beloved husband of 27 years to Clayrita (Seymour) Hadden peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Rockville General Hospital. Bob was born April 14, 1931 in Newark, NJ son of the late Robert and Mildred (Malone) Hadden. He was raised in Rockville and had resided in Manchester for over 30 years before moving to Storrs in 2009. Bob was a proud veteran of the US Army serving his country during the Korean War. He was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post #102 in Manchester and a member of the VFW #2046, the D.A.V. and the Washington Social Club in Manchester. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years in the custodial department with the Glastonbury Board of Education. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Hadden of Tampa, FL, his two grandchildren, Crystalle Anne Long and her daughter, Kyndahl Anne Long both of Texas and Corey Robert Lewis of Florida. He also leaves his stepsons, Darin Hanna and his wife, Pamela of Tolland and Raymond Hanna of Storrs, and three step-grandchildren, Zachary Hanna of North Carolina and Tyler and Corey Hanna both of Tolland. Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 4-8 pm at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 am in East Cemetery (Section 16-C Harrison), 240 East Center St. Manchester.
