Robert C. Henrickson, 97, of Manchester, loving husband of the late Ruth (Jewitt) Henrickson, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at a local convalescent home. Bob was born on March 29, 1920 in New Haven, son of the late Ivar and Helga Henrickson and had been a resident of Manchester since 1959. He was a proud veteran of WW. II. having earned the rank of Staff Sergeant in the US Army. Prior to his retirement in 1983, Bob was employed for over 28 years with Hamilton Standard. He was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester. Bob was a member of the Beethoven Chorus, the Manchester Senior Center where he prepared tax returns for the members and he volunteered at the Little Theatre of Manchester. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was predeceased by his daughter Gail J. Henrickson, his brother Ivar J. Henrickson Jr. and his sister Verna Carlson. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 11am-12 pm with a service to begin at 12 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Henrickson Endowment Fund c/o the University of New Haven Advancement Office, 300 Boston Post Road, West Haven, CT 06516.
