Robert P. (Guglietti) Galett, 86, of Coventry, formerly of Rockville, beloved husband of 57 years to Dorothy (Cripps) Galett passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2014. Bob was born on January 14, 1928 in Berlin, NH son of the late James and Julia Guglietti. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and was scouted by them as a 3rd baseman before enlisting in the US Navy to serve on the Battleship USS Wisconsin until it was deactivated in 1948. Bob then attended Wentworth Institute before joining Pratt and Whitney in its R&D Department working on engine accessories and sheetmetal where he met his wife to be Dottie. Always looking for a challenge, he then went on to build and operate several businesses to include the Country Squire Restaurant in Ellington. In addition to Dottie, he is survived by his three children; Steven Galett of Ellington, Robin Galett of Ellington and Gary and Lisa Galett of Coventry; his two grandchildren, Sabrina Galett Little of Ellington and Devon Galett of Ellington. Bob was raised in a loving and close knit family and is also survived by his sister Lillian Travers of Manchester, NH her family and the family of his late brothers Henry and Frank Guglietti. Funeral services and burial will be private at Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville. There are no calling hours.
