Robert H. Carlson

Robert (Bob) Carlson, 81 of Bolton, formerly of Manchester passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. Bob was born on December 13, 1939 in Hartford and was the son of the late Harry Carlson and Janet Ludington. He served his country in the Air National Guard. Prior to his retirement he worked at Aetna Life and Casualty for 30 years in the Sales/Marketing Division while being actively involved in the Aetna Mens Club, Move Crew and the Aetna duckpin bowling league and softball team. His love for socializing with people landed him a job as Carter Chevrolets shuttle driver for many years. Bob was an avid golfer and a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox, Hartford Whalers and UConn Basketball. He loved attending his childrens and grandchildrens sporting activities and would coach at every opportunity. Family was everything to Bob, with each person holding a very special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his first wife, Judith (Woltersdorf) Carlson and his second wife, Elaine (Wessels) Carlson He leaves behind his children, Robert Carlson and his wife Lorrie of Broad Brook; Craig Carlson and his wife Deanne of Dickson, TN; Diane Terry and her husband Chris of Manchester; Karen Webb and her husband George of Lebanon and Christine Carlson of Bristol. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family is extremely grateful for the exceptional care that Miroslaw (Mark) Myslinski gave to our father for the last 4 years. Mark loved Bob as if he were his own family. Family and friends may call Wednesday July 14, 2021 from 4-7pm at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home at 400 Main St, Manchester. A memorial service will be held Thursday July 15, 2021 at 10am at the funeral home with a burial to follow at East Cemetery, Manchester.
