Richard A. ''Tony'' Ahern

Richard A. "Tony" Ahern, 79, of Manchester, formerly of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Shirley "Maureen" (Moore) Ahern passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Tony was born on July 15, 1934 in Hartford son of the late William T. and Catherine (Glanville) Ahern. He was raised in Hartford and was a graduate of Weaver High School. Tony was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S.M.C. Prior to his retirement he was an Accountant working for the State of Connecticut. Tony was a Communicant of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Church in Hartford and was a member of the American Legion and the Marine Corps League. He is survived by his loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be a private graveside service with military honors in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. There are no calling hours. Holmes Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the United States Marine Corps League.
