Richard G. Sauer, 68, of Coventry passed away on Friday December 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Bolton, CT on August 31, 1949. He was the son of the late Elizabeth (Krause) Sauer and William Sauer.
Rich worked many years for the town of Bolton, Pratt and Whitney and finally Konica Minolta from where he retired. He loved fishing, camping, taking road trips to Vermont and spending time with family and friends.
Rich is survived by his wife and best friend Lorri, his daughter Carrie Ray and partner Kevin Boulet. His grandsons Brandon and Cody Ray and his granddaughters Amanda, Sharon and Caitlin Boulet.
He is also survived by his sisters Jeannie and Tim Martin, Doris Stephenson, Rosemarie Pavlik, Wilma Kehaya and partner John Knight and Mary and Larry Falco. His brothers Arnie Sauer, Bill and Nancy Sauer, Donnie and Patty Sauer, and Freddie and Mary Sauer
Rich also leaves his father-in-law and mother-in-law Clarence and Carmel Guitard, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joyce and Jack Saunders, his sister-in-law Valerie Buchele and partner Mike Borkowski and special aunt and uncle-in law Alva and Lester Martin.
He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Harry and his brother-in-laws Roland Pavlik and Ron Buechele.
Visiting hours for family and friends are Tuesday, December 12, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 60 Church Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Tolland.
In lieu of flowers donations made in Rich's name can be made to any Pancreatic Cancer Organization or the American Humane Society.
