Richard L. Pierce Sr

Richard L. "Dick" Pierce Sr., 80, of Manchester, beloved husband of 60 years to Janice (Smith) Pierce died on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Manchester after a brief illness. Born April 1, 1938 at Manchester Hosp., son of the late Arthur and Justine (Parker) Pierce. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1956- 1963. Dick was employed as a Machinist at Gilman Brothers in Bozrah, CT before retiring. He loved Fishing, Crabbing & Golfing. Dick, a friend of Bill W. for 38 years and a member of the Pathfinders in Manchester. Sponsored many Joe, Dan, Tom, Mike.. All were his family. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived by his three children; Cynthia Brundrett of Colchester, Denice Jones and her husband Bruce of Manchester and Edward Pierce and his wife Esperanza of Manchester, Dick was predeceased by his son Richard L. Pierce Jr., his Suto son Charlie Lake and his wife Kelly and son Austen, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren including Kalon who called him his "Grandpa Daddy", his sister Patricia Pierce, several nieces, nephews and their families and his Crabbing Buddy and nephew Dale Taylor and his wife Dawn. Visitation for his life is on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 2-5 pm at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester. Burial with military honors will take place at Linwood Cemetery in Colchester on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2PM.
