Richard T. Barracliffe, 72 of Manchester, passed away on Thursday July 12, 2018 at his home after a long struggle with multiple health issues.
Rich was born in Middletown, CT on October 21, 1945, son of the late Edgar H. and Evelyn (Leppin) Barracliffe and came to Manchester in 1954. He graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1963 and proudly served in the Army National Guard. Prior to retiring in 2005 he was the owner and operator of Barracliffe's Gulf Service Station on West Middle Turnpike in Manchester, a business started by his father in 1954 as Ed's Atlantic.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn B. Grant of Manchester; three grandchildren, Victoria Perkins, her husband Keith, and their son Keith Michael of Somersworth, NH, MacKenzie Grant and Kyle Grant, both of Manchester; his sister, Lynn B. Pemberton-Locke and her husband Brian of Manchester; his former wife, Kathleen Noblet of Manchester; his niece Sarah (Pemberton) Chambers and nephew, Ryan Pemberton, special neighbors, Erin, Rich, and Ashley Boyle, and his caregiver, Carol Jones. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Barracliffe.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 20, at 11:00 AM in Section K-2 of the East Cemetery, 240 East Center Street, Manchester. Visiting hours for family and friends are Thursday, July 19, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester.
