Raymond M. Fournier

December 30, 1937 — March 21, 2017

Raymond M. Fournier, 79 of Manchester, CT, loving husband for fifty nine years of Marlene M. (Gagnon) Fournier, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Manchester.

Ray was born in Caribou, ME on December 30, 1937, one of eight children of Armand and Ida (Guerrette) Fournier. He was raised in Caribou, served in the Maine National Guard, and moved to Manchester in 1960. Prior to retiring in 2000 he was employed in the 8th Utilities District in Manchester for twenty six years. Ray was a member of Manchester Elks Lodge #1893, the Knights of Columbus Chapter #573, a parishioner of St. Bridget Church, a former member of the Manchester 8th District Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the King Donut Club.
He was always the life of the party and, will be missed by all.

With his wife he is survived by four children, Ricky Fournier and his wife Christine of Vernon, CT, Rodney Fournier and his wife Doreen of Bolton, CT, Randy Fournier and his partner Tracy Mitchell of Farmers Branch, TX, and Lisa Fournier and her wife Chrissy Seredy of Manchester; four grandchildren, Stacy, Katie & husband Jason Canfield, Drew, and Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Russell and Kimberly; three sisters and a brother, Rachel Bauer and her husband David of Columbus, OH, Marlene Habeeb and her husband Ken, Doreen McCarthy, and Franklin Fournier and his wife Arlene, all of Caribou, ME; numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Dolores Sperry, Lorraine White, and Rocky Fournier, and a daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Adams) Fournier.

Visiting hours for family and friends are Sunday, March 26, from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester. A prayer service will be held Monday, March 27, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery in Manchester.
