Raymond James Finley, 64 years old, of Vernon, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, left us to be with our Lord on July 13, 2017. His devotion to God and his family will be remembered by all who knew him. He gathered his strength from the authority of God's word and imparted it to his family. Ray was born, April 18, 1953 in Miami, Florida. He spent his life setting a high standard and was a man of great faith. Ray served in the military and was a veteran of the US Army. He educated himself on various topics and would spend his time discussing these with friends and family. He took a special pride in raising chickens and rabbits, as well as his fur baby, Nicholas. It was important to Ray to give back to others, in life as well as in death. He was an organ donor and donated his corneas to bring the gift of sight. Ray enjoyed teaching auto mechanics at Lincoln Institute for the past twelve years. Ray is survived by his wife of 38 years, Michele Fratus Finley; his brother Jim Finley; sister Betty Finley; daughter Laurie (Doug) Mobley; son Michael (Brenda) Finley; daughter Katherine (Jack) Tornabene; son Matthew Finley; son Joshua (Anna) Finley and daughter Jennifer (John) Moreau. He is survived by many grandchildren: Jacob, Rachael, Nathan, Kaleb, Matthew, Brianna, Kaylee, Judah, Hannah, Landon, Jesse and Cole. Memorial calling hours will be held at Church of the Living God, 199 Deming St., Manchester, on Friday July 21, 2017 from 6-8 pm. A Memorial service with military honors will be Saturday July 22 at 11 am at the Church of the Living God with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Living God. Also, check your oil and tire pressure, our Dad and Husband would have wanted that.
