Ralph Arnold Wentworth

December 2, 1951 — May 31, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ralph Wentworth, 73, of Colchester, on May 31, 2025. Ralph was born in Hartford, CT to the late Earl and Mary Wentworth Sr. Ralph grew up in Hartford, graduating from Bulkeley High School with the Class of 1970. He was a proud employee of Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT for 30 years before retiring in 2004, after suffering a stroke.

Ralph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a long time resident of Colchester, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family.

Ralph’s greatest joy was Kathy, his loving wife of 52 years, and their children, Jamie, Jennifer, and Adam. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, ensuring his children had the opportunity to pursue higher education and cherishing the memories created on family vacations. His unwavering commitment and hard work were matched only by his selflessness and kindness.

Ralph had a deep love for the outdoors, finding serenity in the simple pleasures of life—hiking, lounging in the sun on the deck while admiring the freshly cut lawn listening to the birds, and watching thunderstorms roll in. He could often be found playing volleyball, enjoying a round of golf, casting a line while fishing, or listening to his favorite music. His stubborn determination was balanced by his warm-hearted nature, always putting others before himself.

Ralph is predeceased by his nephew, Michael Depascale, his nephew Douglas Longo, and his brother-in-law, Roger Liebman.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathy, their three children Jamie, Jennifer (Benjamin), and Adam (Yalan), and his treasured grandchildren Matthew (Daphna), Denver, Evan, Sarah, and Christopher, who will forever remember his gentle spirit and unwavering love. He is also survived by his siblings Earl Jr, Althea, Robert (Gary), and his sister-in-law Patricia Liebman. Ralph’s memory will live on in the laughter shared at family gatherings and the songs that bring comfort in moments of reflection.

A service will be held to celebrate Ralph’s life at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St, Manchester, CT on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 10AM to 12PM. Burial at East Cemetery, 220 E Center St, Manchester, CT will follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to ASPCA, Alzheimer’s Association, or charity of the donor’s choice, honoring Ralph’s legacy of kindness and generosity.

Ralph’s presence in our lives was a gift, and though he will be deeply missed, his love and lessons will remain with us always.
