Ralph Birmingham

Ralph S. Birmingham, 87, of Manchester passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Manchester Hospital with family by his side. He is the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline Birmingham. Ralph was born on April 9, 1937 in Lincoln, Maine to the late Ralph and Kathleen (McGibney) Birmingham. Ralph lived a long life, always surrounded by family, friends and his camping family. When in high school he enjoyed basketball, baseball and played trumpet in the band. Ralph married his High School sweetheart Jackie in 1957 and served our country in the United States Marine Corp until 1960.
They moved from Maine to Connecticut with their first child (1959) when he accepted a job with Pratt and Whitney. Ralph enjoyed fly fishing and would make his own flies for himself and other fishing friends. He also enjoyed the sport of archery with his children. He was a very handy man and enjoyed working with wood. Ralph will be remembered for his love of Scottish terriers over the years. The family would like to acknowledge Nickerson Family Campground and his camping family who made it possible for him to enjoy camping for many years. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, cornhole, bonfires and all the great dinners at the campground.
Ralph is predeceased by his son Glenn Birmingham. Ralph is survived by daughter Jerri DeBacco and husband Greg, daughter-in-law Diane Birmingham, two grandchildren Sabrina Salerno and husband Steven, William (Billy) DeBacco and wife Shannon and also three great-grandchildren Lawson and Taya Salerno, Baylee DeBacco. He is also survived by his sister Ann and husband Cliff Hilchey, his brothers Larry Birmingham and late wife Roberta and George (Buddy) and wife Christy Birmingham.
