Rachel Evans

December 8, 1941 — October 11, 2022

We regretfully announce the passing of Rachel L. Evans of Manchester CT, formerly of Bolton CT and Vernon CT on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Rachel was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully. Rachel was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family and everyone she met. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Raymond Zemanek of Manchester CT, with whom she resided, her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Becky Evans of Manchester CT, her nine grandchildren, their partners and four great grandchildren, Tara Pelletier and her partner Jeff and their child Abra of California, Rachel and Christian Steel and their sons Gavin and Jackson of Ellington CT, Margaret Boushee of Baltimore MD, Ali Zemanek and their partner Sydney of Portland CT, Andrea Zemanek and her partner Tony of Somers CT, Ava Zemanek and her partner Nick of New Britain, CT, Kyle Upton-Evans and his partner Naomi and their daughter Diedra of Manchester CT, Julia Evans of Newington CT and Hannah Evans of Newington CT. She also leaves four sisters, Janet Pigeon of Canada, Claire Purington of Milford CT, Jo Lyn Pariseau of Vernon CT, and Cecile Settles of Brunswick GA. Her loving nieces and nephews, Diane, Lisa, Lucy, Natalie, Mark, Randy, Vicki ??, Kevin, Shawn, Glenn, Dale, Eric, Rick, Scott, Rob, Jill, and Joy. She had a special place in her heart for our pup Alvin, who could tire her out playing fetch. Rachel was predeceased by her parents Aime and Arietta Begin, her husband John Evans, her daughter Tamara Roberts Boushee, and her son Brian Evans. Rachel graduated from Berlin CT High School in 1959. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church of Vernon CT. She was a volunteer for the Vernon CT CERT program, and delivered food to the disabled for Hockanum Valley Community Counsel Of Vernon CT. Rachel was a member of the Red Hat Society. She practiced Reflexology and was a Reiki Master and donated her services at the Bolton CT Senior Center. She enjoyed making crafty handmade cards, and enjoyed playing cards when able. She enjoyed tag saleing, and trips to Vermont. She enjoyed going to Senior Moments Adult Daycare , at 31 Kingsbury Ave, Tolland, CT, a few days a week to be with her peers. A special thank you to Manchester Pizza and Grill on Green Road in Manchester CT for making sure we always had a warm meal. Please consider a donation in Rachels name to Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Connecticut, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon CT 06066, as this organization was beneficial to her and her family's care in her final week. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
