Philip Myles Siegel, 65, of South Windsor, formerly of Hartford, beloved brother, uncle, life partner and friend, died suddenly and peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
Phil was born at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut on August 18, 1950, son of the late Sidney Siegel and Gertrude Tresky. He was raised in Hartford and had been a resident of South Windsor for over thirty years. Prior to his early retirement, Phil worked on Personal Lines and Information Technology at St. Pauls Travelers Insurance for close to 30 years. He previously worked for W.T. Grant Company.
Phil was an avid Disney fan, visiting Disney World frequently. He also enjoyed going to the movies, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. He cared deeply for his many nieces and nephews, family and friends and for his life partner, Wayne. He will be dearly missed by all.
Besides his parents, Phil was predeceased by a sister, Myrna Reasoner, a brother, Noel Siegel and his step-mother, Corrine Siegel. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, his sister-in-law, Barbara Siegel, his step-sister, Lynnette Derosier and family and his step-sister, Gail Shapiro and family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5th at 12:00 Noon at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
