Philip A. McGehan Jr., 75, of Manchester, husband of the late Linda (D'Addario) McGehan died peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2016. He was born on November 3, 1941 in Hartford son of the late Philip A. McGehan Sr. and Maude (Gordon) McGehan. Phil was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1959. He then earned his bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Hartford. Phil was a veteran of the US. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed for over 25 years with Sony Manufacturing System America Inc., retiring in 2005 as a Regional Manager. He was an avid reader, Red Sox, and Patriots fan and he enjoyed watching UConn Women's Basketball. Phil loved NASCAR racing and was a huge Jimmie Johnson fan. He is survived by his daughter Teri C. McGehan of Windsor, his sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Robert Blake of Manchester, his sister-in-law Barbara McGehan of South Windsor, several nieces, nephews cousins and his good friends; Marcia, Joan, Jeff, Betty and Eddie. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother James McGehan. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 9:30-11:30 am at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mary's Kitty Korner, PO Box 418, Pleasant Valley, CT 06063.
