Peter A. Mahler

Peter A. Mahler, 75, of Manchester, beloved husband of Janina (Mirecki) Mahler passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Manchester Memorial Hospital with his family at his side. Peter was born August 3, 1939 in Hoboken, NJ, son of the late Alvin and Mary (Batten) Mahler. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1965 as a Radio Operator while stationed in the Philippines. He resided in Manchester for most of his life and taught English at East Hartford High School for 35 years, retiring in 2002. In addition to his wife Janina, he is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Desmoreaux and her children, Julia and Kate of Saline, MI, and his son Mark Mahler and his wife Heather of Manchester; two sisters, Marybeth Mahler of Newington, and Lucile Domick of Wethersfield; a niece and a nephew, as well as several cousins.
