Peggy P. Wright

Peggy (Phelon) Wright, 74 of Manchester, CT, loving wife for fifty three years of Roderick Wright, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Springfield MA on November 22, 1940, daughter of the late Richard T. and Marjorie (Sheldon) Phelon. She was raised in West Suffield, CT and moved to Manchester during the 1960's. Prior to retiring in 2006 Peggy was an administrative assistant in the Hartford office of the United Church of Christ for thirty-five years. She was a longtime and active member of the Second Congregational Church in Manchester, a member of the church choir, and a member of the South Windsor Community Chorus. After her retirement she and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States.
With her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son, Robin Bucki and her husband Francis of East Hartford, CT, and Donald Wright and his wife Janet of McLainsville, NC; four grandchildren, Patrick and Jenna Bucki, and Virginia and Katie Wright; her sister, Eleanor James of Camarillo, CA, her brother, Richard Phelon of Biloxi, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be Sunday, June 14, from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 15 at 2:00 PM at the Second Congregational Church, 385 North Main Street, Manchester. Burial will be private in the East Cemetery in Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Congregational Church Memorial Fund or the Missionary Society of Connecticut.
