On September 11, 2015 Paul Andrew Pryor, 61, of Manchester, lost the biggest game of his life surrounded by his loving family and close friends at St. Francis Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born and raised in Manchester and returned to his hometown a few years ago where he spent his last remaining days. Paul graduated from Manchester Community College with a degree in Hotel & Food Management. He studied abroad in Shannon, Ireland and held those memories and experiences close to his heart. He worked several years in the hotel business management world but his true calling was in providing school transportation for several local towns for more than 25 years. For the past seven years he was Branch Manager at Dattco Inc. in Hartford. Paul was devoted to his job and committed to providing safe and efficient transportation for Hartford school children. Paul was loved as a boss and Dattco was his second family. Paul had a passion for all sports, but the New York Giants were above all his favorite. He knew sports facts better than most sports broadcasters and found pleasure in a competitive round of golf with "The Boys". Paul was predeceased by his parents Daniel & Irene Pryor. He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Guyette and Raquel White, his beloved grandchildren, Danny, Aaron, Olivia, Paul, Avery and great granddaughter Makaelyn. His siblings and their spouses, Stephen & Erin Pryor, Donna & Brian McDermott and Rose and Brian Barry. He also leaves the "Love of His Life" Doris Gonzales along with Uncle Frank, Aunt Penny, many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all his caregivers at St. Francis Cancer Center, especially Nella, Dr. Sporn, Vidya and Nikki his niece who made sure all his care was coordinated. Special thanks to the Oncology nurses on 8-1 and the Masonicare Hospice nurses who made the last few days of his life more peaceful. Calling hours will be held Tuesday September 15, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
