Paul D. Murphy, 63, of Manchester, CT, beloved brother and uncle passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 following a brief illness. He was born in Manchester to the late John W. Murphy and Marlene (Magnell) Nardi.
Paul retired in 2006 after a 35-year career as a mechanic for the CT Transit Company. He enjoyed using the free time that he had during his retirement to help neighbors, family and friends with any home project they needed. Everyone who knew him knew that he would show up when needed. Paul was a blessing who will be sorely missed by many.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his brothers and sisters; John Murphy of East Windsor, Janice Poirier and her husband George of Simsbury, Stephen Murphy of West Hartford, Lynne Goodwin and her husband Richard of Fernandina Beach, FL, Brenda Nardi and her husband Duane of Bolton and Marlene Nardi of Enfield, as well as nieces and nephews; Robin McPhee, Al and Jim Cyr, Rick and Gregory Goodwin, Shayla Pierce, and Megan and Madison Moriarty. Paul was predeceased by his nephew Thomas Murphy.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Critical Care Unit at Manchester Memorial Hospital for their attention and special care of Paul.
The family will receive friends and relatives, Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 12 noon to 2:00pm with a memorial service to be held at 2:00pm, at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT. A private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
