Paul E. Miller, 83, of Manchester, formerly of Hartford and Columbia, husband of 59 years to Constance (Scott) Miller, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014, peacefully at home. He was born November 24, 1930, in Hartford, son of the late Charles and Mae (Sando) Miller. He was raised in Hartford and graduated from Kingswood School, Class of 1948, and thereafter completed the Bryant College business program. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 30 years. Paul had a wonderful childhood, especially racing his sailboat on Columbia Lake. He was called "The Old Timer" because of his passion for antiquities. He traveled to Alaska several times and loved to fish. Paul was a devoted UConn Women's Basketball fan and had attended several of their final four tournaments. He was a deeply religious man, and his faith in God was the center of his life. He is survived by his daughter Carol Miller, of Glastonbury, and his two beloved grandchildren Peter and Kayla May and his son Thomas W. Miller and his wife Daniela, of Boulder, CO. He also leaves his brother Dr. Richard C. Miller and his wife Suzanne, of Jackson, MS, his sister Alice Englert of Columbia, and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Paul are welcome to attend a graveside service on Thursday, June 19, 2014, and 11:00 a.m. in Section 10 of Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, in Hartford. There are no calling hours.
