Paul Falck, 94 of Manchester, died Friday, January 15, 2016 peacefully at home. Paul was born on May 15, 1921 in West Hartford, Connecticut to Peter and Agnes (Milgard) Falck. He was a long time resident of Manchester having lived there for over 40 years. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Marjorie "Mudge" Falck, in 2011. Paul graduated from William Hall High School in West Hartford in June 1939. His college career at Dartmouth was cut short to volunteer in the U.S. Army during World War II. He followed the Army across North Africa and into Italy playing trumpet in the Army band for newly arriving troop ships, at officers clubs, as well as for visiting presidents and dignitaries of the various Allies. When he returned from the war he joined the Aetna Life & Casualty Company where he devoted his entire working life as an underwriter. In his younger years Paul was an expert marksman and enjoyed hunting. In retirement he loved to play golf, travel, listen to jazz, and enjoy his extensive family. Paul will be most remembered as loved by everyone, a gentle always-friendly man who quickly endeared himself to all. The family wishes to extend its sincerest gratitude to the caring staff at Always Best Care for making his final years at home a loving and happy time in his life. Of all his caregivers, none are appreciated more by the family than Talea Barnes. Paul is survived by three loving sons: John Falck of Kerhonkson, New York; Brian Falck (and wife Cindi) of Placida, Florida; and David Falck (and wife Sally) of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as nieces Lynne Haberern and Susan McKee and nephews Philip Kenny and Richard Falck. He is also survived by three grandsons, Erik, Charles and Hunter Falck; three granddaughters, Dana Tischler, Claire Falck and Sarah Falck; and two great grandchildren, Tanzer and Seneka Falck. All were true joys to him. Friends may call on the family at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester on Saturday, January 30th from 10:00-11:00am. A private interment in St. James Cemetery will be for family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Paul Falck's name may be made to Bugles Across America (
