Obituary

Patsyjean Kuuleilani Carter, 78, of Hebron, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and treasured memories.

Born on July 11, 1947, in Hawaii, Patsyjean was the daughter of the late Consuelo and Jean (Belen) Daog. She carried with her a warm spirit that reflected her roots and touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Patsyjean devoted over 15 years of her career to serving as an Executive Associate with the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation. She believed in helping others and took great pride in supporting an organization dedicated to caring for children and their families.

While her career was meaningful, her greatest joy was always her family. Affectionately known as "Mimi" to her granddaughters, Elisa and Michela, she delighted in being part of their lives. Whether cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, applauding at concerts, or celebrating every milestone, Mimi never missed an opportunity to show her love and support. Elisa and Michela always knew they could count on seeing her smiling face in the crowd.

Patsyjean had a gift for making others feel loved. She was happiest when she was giving—whether it was a thoughtful little surprise to brighten someone's day, a plate of homemade baked treats shared with family and friends, or one of the many beautiful cross-stitched baby blankets she lovingly created for new babies. Every stitch, every recipe, and every small gift was an expression of the generous heart that defined her life.

She will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, thoughtfulness, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the countless acts of love and generosity that continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Patsyjean is lovingly survived by her daughter, Heidi Hines; by her beloved granddaughters, KC and Elisa and Michela; who will forever treasure the love and encouragement of their Mimi. In addition she is survived by her large and loving family in Hawaii whom she always kept in close contact with.

Patsyjean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard B. Carter; her son, Jerry Wood; and her parents, Consuelo and Clara and Jean (Belen) Daog.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patsyjean's life at a memorial service on Friday, July 10, at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, Connecticut. A memorial mass will be held starting at 4:00 pm and visitation will follow until 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Easy Breathing Program at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, a cause close to Patsyjean's heart and reflective of her lifelong compassion for others.

Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared so freely, the traditions she created, and the example she set through her generosity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain her greatest legacy.
