Patricia R. Ryan

Patricia R. (Scanlon) Ryan, age 88, passed away comfortably with family at her side on May 20, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years John and son Ken along with five of her six siblings. She lived in Manchester for over fifty years until moving to Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center three and a half years ago. She grew up in Fitchburg, Mass. attended Burbank Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse. She met John, married, then moved to the Boston area where they started their family of five children. John and Patricia moved to Manchester in the early 1950's with their family which consists of Sandi Tobin of Moodus, Jack Ryan of Manchester, Don Ryan and wife, Debby of Lantana, FL and Paul Ryan of Margate, FL. She has three grandchildren, Shana Ryan who lives in Berlin, Germany, Chief Petty Officer U.S. Navy Patrick Ryan and his wife, I Ryan, who are stationed in Rota Spain and Devin Ryan who lives in Lantana, FL. Patricia worked at Manchester Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 34 years prior to her retirement. She worked second shift most of her career as charge nurse of special care now know as intensive care, then first shift supervisor of the Recovery Care Unit. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11 am at St. Bridget of Kildare Church 75 Moodus Leesville Road Moodus, Ct. A reception will follow at the church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
