Patricia (Tanguay) Johnson, 72 of Manchester, CT, loving wife for 35 years of William R. Johnson Jr., died Wednesday April 18, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford after an extended illness.
Pat was born in New Britain, CT on March 5, 1946, daughter of the late Robert T. and Helen (Kulas) Tanguay. She was raised in Newington and New Britain, graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and has been a resident of Manchester for the past thirty years. Prior to retiring she had been employed by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. Pat was a lover of arts and crafts, she was a Master Gardener, and was an animal lover.
With her husband, Pat is survived by three children, Nicole Johnson of Ellington, CT, Kevin Gentile and his wife Roxanna of Lexington, NC, and Douglas Gentile of Washington, NH; her brother, Richard Tanguay and his wife Eileen of Libertyville, IL, four grandchildren, Joshua, Claudia, Christina, and Kallie Gentile; and several nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind her feline companions, Shiree, Kirby, and Ally.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 24, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 29 South Adams Street, Manchester. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery in Glastonbury. Visiting hours for family and friends are Monday, April 23, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester.
