Patricia Thorpe Aiello

Patricia T. Aiello, 68 of South Kingstown, RI formerly of Manchester, CT, wife of Richard D. Aiello, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 with her family at her side at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Pat was born in Hartford, CT on October 23, 1945, daughter of the late Richard F. and Irene M. (Jordan) Thorpe. She was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Hartford and her Master's Degree from Central Connecticut State University. Pat started her teaching career in 1968 in Hartford. She later taught at Palm Beach Gardens (FL) High 1972-75, and subsequently taught business courses at Manchester High School starting 1977 and also teaching at Illing Middle School before retiring in 2002. She loved to ski and following her retirement, spent winters at Okemo Mountain, Ludlow, VT and summers in South Kingstown where she became a volunteer at South County Hospital. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Richard, a brother, Richard F. Thorpe Jr. and his wife Raeann of Windsor, two sisters, Roberta Potaki and her husband, Jon of Waldwick, NJ, Michele Nepaul and her husband, Mike of Louisville, KY, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Jordan Thorpe. Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at 10:30 am at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main Street Manchester, with burial to follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Michael J.
