Norman R. Balch, 91 of Bolton, formerly of Manchester beloved husband of the late Elvina (Horton) Balch passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his home. Norman was born February 6, 1926 in Manchester, son of the late Charles D. and Edith (Gutzmer) Balch. He was raised in Manchester and had resided in Bolton for more than 60 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an accountant employed by the State of Connecticut at UCONN Storrs before retiring. Norman was a Past Worshipful Master of Manchester Lodge No. 73 A.F. & A.M. and a member of Bolton Congregational Church. He was a member of the Bolton Senior Center, and in past years was an avid duckpin bowler. Norman is survived by his loving family a daughter, Wendy (Balch) Mancini of Enfield, three grandchildren, Angela (Mancini) Pastomerlo, Allison Mancini and Albert Norman Mancini, a great-granddaughter, Savana Codere, and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by a brother, a Charles Balch, a sister, Barbara Leary and son-in-law, Albert J. Mancini. A private graveside burial service was held in Buckland Cemetery, Manchester.
