Noel Fagan

October 2, 1941 — June 3, 2015

Noel Fagan, age 73, of Bolton, CTY died peacefully on June 3, 2015, at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband and best friend of Cynthia Robbins Fagan for more than 48 years. Noel was predeceased by his parents Walter R. Fagan and Helen Dillings Fagan.
He was born on October 2, 1941, in Hartford, CT and spent his early childhood in Elmwood, CT. His family moved to Manchester, CT when Noel was 12 years old and he continued his education in the Manchester school system, graduating from Manchester High School, class of 1960. Noel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force immediately after graduation and served for four years. He volunteered and successfully completed three tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon honorable discharge, Noel returned home to Manchester and began his career at Aetna Property & Casualty, where he remained for 44 years. He retired from Aetna, Inc. in 2008 as an Operations Support Specialist.
Noel was a former member of the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department. He was the first Emergency Medical Technician, became an instructor, and was the catalyst for bringing the first rescue truck and the training of the members to fruition. Noel was a life member of VFW Post 2046 in Manchester and proud of his Irish heritage as a member of the Irish American Home Society in Glastonbury, CT.
In addition to his wife, Noel is survived by his son, Patrick S. Fagan and his wife Cindy Links-Fagan, and a treasured grandson Ian R. Fagan, all of Hebron, CT. He also leaves a sister, Cathi Gallup and her husband Douglas, in Venice, Florida and his sister-in-law, Patricia Fagan of Enfield, CT. Noel was predeceased by his sister Barbara Fagan and his brother Walter Fagan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, at 9:15 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, at 10:00 AM. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow after Mass in St. James Cemetery, 360 Broad Street, Manchester, CT.
Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday, June 12, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
