Neil R Fortin

Neil R. Fortin, 51 of Coventry, formerly of South Windsor, husband for twenty-four years of Carol J. Fortin, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his home in Coventry.
Neil was born in Hartford on January 7, 1965, son of Therese (Vashon) Fortin of Manchester and the late Wilfred F. Fortin. He was raised in South Windsor, graduated from South Windsor High School, and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Hartford. He was currently an employee of the Otis Elevator Company.
Neil was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and was the Assistant Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 880 in South Windsor. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and most recently was certified in scuba diving.
With his wife, Neil is survived by two sons, Kevin and Marc Fortin of Coventry; his sister and two brothers, Regina "Reggie" Caron and her husband Eldon of South Windsor, George Fortin and his wife Debbie of Vernon , and Peter Fortin and his wife Lori of Tolland, and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for family and friends are Thursday, June 9, at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, with a prayer service to be held at 8:00 PM. Funeral services and burial will be private.
