Neida Rico

Neida Ramos-Rico November 4, 1958 - September 20, 2023 Born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY and peacefully passed away at Hartford Hospital on September 20, 2023. Neida Ramos Rico was a radiant presence. She grew up in Brooklyn, surrounded by her five sisters and three brothers: Judith, Jennifer, Maybelynn, Christy, Carmen, Dereck, Junito, and Ruben. From an early age, Neida's love and energy were boundless. In Hartford, Connecticut, Neida met Danilo Rico at Peter's Cafe, and their love story quickly blossomed. Within a year, they welcomed their first son, Joshua into the world, and soon after, they exchanged vows and celebrated the birth of their second, Jose. In 1991, they settled in Glastonbury, Connecticut, and expanded their family with Jovonni, Jeremy, Jordan, and Jonathan. She also became a stepmother to Danilo's children Keyla, Chantel, and Danilo Jr. Neida's maternal love knew no bounds, extending her care to all who needed it, becoming a cherished figure for her nieces, nephews and her children's friends. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother to Joshua, Jovonni, Keyla, Chantel, and Danilo Jrs children. Despite facing health challenges in her early 40s, Neida continued to raise her family and support those around her. She had a special affection for Glastonbury, where she raised her children, and embraced every aspect of the town. While her hobbies were limited, she found joy in playing scratch cards, selecting her lotto numbers and frequently visiting the casino with whomever would take her. Neida leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by her six children, 3 step children, cherished grandchildren, devoted husband, 4 sisters, two brothers, countless nieces, nephews, and an extensive circle of friends and family members. Service The loss of Neida has left her family shattered. She was the radiant light, the heart filled with joy, and the steadfast pillar of the family. Her absence is beyond words. Services to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, September 24th, at Holmes and Watkins Funeral Home, located at 400 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040 between the times of 1-4 PM
