Nancy Payne Schadlich, 90, formerly of Enfield, CT and Sturbridge, MA died peacefully on June 2, 2014 at the Hebrew Home in West Hartford, CT. Nancy was predeceased in 2000 by her beloved husband of 49 years, Louis F. Schadlich. Mrs. Schadlich was born in Philadelphia, PA, moving later to Manchester, CT. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1942, and earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in 1946. Mrs. Schadlich was devoted to her church, family, friends, and community, and contributed many years as a Sunday School teacher, PTO member, classroom aide, and in later years as a library assistant at the Joshua Hyde Library in Sturbridge, MA. Nancy especially enjoyed reading, rooting for the Red Sox, and trips to Rockport, MA with family and friends. Mrs. Schadlich is survived by her four children and their families: son Thomas Schadlich, his wife Caroline of Trumbull, CT and their children David, Charlie, and Emilie; son James Schadlich, his wife Carol of Murrells Inlet, SC and their children Jarett, Karl and his wife Megan, and Benjamin, his wife Sara and their daughter Skylar; daughter Elizabeth Klinck, her husband Doug of East Hartford, CT, and her children Sandra Bailey and her children Julian and Adelaide Mayo, Sharon Bailey and her husband Richard Tomkowit, and Eric Bailey and his wife Jill; and daughter Susan Peach, her husband Russell of Marblehead, MA and their daughters Sarah and Grace. Memorial calling hours will be Monday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury, CT.
