Nancy (Eddy) Cox, 81, of South Windsor, formerly of Manchester, wife of Paul A. Cox, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born January 11, 1937, in Wallingford, VT to the late Robert and May (McClure) Eddy. She grew up in Wallingford, attended local schools and graduated from Wallingford High School. She lived in Vermont until 1958 where she moved to Manchester, CT with her husband Paul and has been a resident since before recently moving to South Windsor. Nancy was a very busy woman. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and was a member of the Waddell Elementary School PTA in Manchester. She liked camping during the summer months where she enjoyed tubing down various rivers. She loved making fires on the beaches of Cape Cod and visiting her and her husband's home in Florida. She was also an avid traveler. Some of her destinations included Aruba, St. Thomas, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Myrtle Beach and many more. Her personal enjoyments included golfing, bowling, crocheting and sewing, playing cards with friends and her frequent trips to Mohegan Sun. She enjoyed her monthly gatherings with the women of Bolton Street for their monthly luncheons, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters Nicole and Amanda.
In addition to her husband and granddaughters, Nancy leaves behind her daughter, Cynthia Sullivan, her brother Thomas Eddy, her sister-in-law Susan Cox and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Brian Cox and siblings Marion Thomas, Donald Eddy, Beverly Holland and Robert McClure.
A funeral service for Nancy will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10 AM at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. An hour of visitation will begin at 9 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
