Mildred P. Kos

July 30, 1925 — March 3, 2025

Mildred P. Kos , 99, of Manchester, CT, wife of the late Frank J. Kos who passed away in 2005, has gone to be with the Lord on March 3rd, 2025.Mildred was born in Manchester, the oldest of eight daughters born to the late Harold and Martha E. (Clark) Piercy. Millie attended local schools, graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1943, and resided in Manchester for most of her life. Prior to retiring she was the cafeteria manager for the Head Start Program for the Town of Manchester. Millie was a former member of the PTA at Waddell School for 22 years.
Millie was a communicant and devoted parishioner of St. Bridget Church for more than 60 years. She was a charter member and served for 30 years in the St. Bridget Rosary Society; sang in the Resurrection Choir; served on the Visitation Committee; served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for 12 years, during which time she brought Holy Communion to the sick and shut-ins. She was a member of the St. Bridget Social Club, and for 30 years worked in various roles at the St. Bridget Bazaar, including as the personnel director and hospitality chairman.
During Millie's long and busy life, she traveled to 19 countries and all but four of the 50 states. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed her flower garden. Millie often attributed her long life to her deep connections to and love for family and friends. She was curious and involved in the world around her. She took too many pictures and, much to the delight of the local photomats, printed thousands of copies to share with family and friends. Millie belonged to the Royal Scarlet Gadabouts Red Hat Society, the Manchester Senior Center, and the Manchester Historical Society where she served as a docent.
