Michael Paul
Weir
May 10, 1978 – February 15, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Michael Paul Weir age 47 on Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was born on May 10, 1978 in Manchester Hospital and was the son of Alan Weir and Cheri Merrick.
Michael attended Glastonbury High School and graduated in 1997. After graduation, he began working for the UA Local 777 ,where he was a pipe fitter and steam fitter for approximately 20 years. He was a licensed heating piping and cooling journey person. He enjoyed his time in the commercial aspect of the union. He was in a foreman position at Yale for the union and had a hand in building several nuclear power plants. Later in life, he started working for the residential side of the heating and cooling industry. Michael was known as a jack of all trades. He could build a house , fix any car, loved tiling ,building decks, roofing and so much more.
A lifelong passion of Michael’s was water skiing. He began water skiing at the age of nine, and by 11 had taken up barefoot skiing. The sport had remained close to his heart throughout his entire life. He loved driving his boat and teaching others his craft on water skis. Michael also enjoyed camping. He had a huge love for the great outdoors, hiking snowmobiling and ATVing . Anything he did, he did with a full and loving heart always with friends and family by his side.
Michael was a loyal and devoted friend and shared deep bonds with many individuals that he regarded as his brothers. His friends and family were the utmost importance to him, but none more important than his ride or die lifelong friend David Perham.
He is survived by his fiancé and partner in life of six years Laurie Marshall, his father Alan Weir and his stepmother Donna Weir . His mother, Cheri Merrick and his stepfather Brian Merrick, his sister, Michelle Weir, his stepbrother Chuck Cusson, his step sister Jennifer Eldridge and his surrogate daughter Corie Grocki as well as numerous extended family members and friends that are far too many to mention.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched through his kindness, loyalty, and generosity.
The Holmes-Watson Funeral home has been entrusted with the care of private funeral arrangements. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on a future date.. Details for all friends and family will be sent once determined ,
