Michael L. McEwen, 65, of Middletown, CT entered eternal rest on October 9, 2024. Born on January 10, 1959, in Fort Fairfield, Maine to the late William C. and Lorraine J. McEwen (Murphy).Michael owned and operated McEwen Construction for over 40 years and was a well-known and respected designer/builder. Mike studied the art of Tai Chi for many years and taught classes at the Central CT Tai Chi Ch'uan. Mike often volunteered at The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts Center, where he met his wife, Anne-Marie, during Laughter Yoga. He cherished having had the opportunity to teach there and introduce Tai Chi & Qigong to visually impaired people. There he discovered his passion for combining brass instruments with Tibetan Singing bowls. He created a "Vibrational Awareness Chamber" that he used to teach people about our vibrational nature and its importance. Later in life he spent many months in Florida with family, attending drum circles and helping people with his Tibetan bowl "Relaxation Station". Mike had a generous, kind heart and loved to laugh. He brightened the lives of all who knew him.Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Anne-Marie Cannata McEwen of CT, His three children, Julie Krenzke (Shane) of AZ, Justin McEwen (Selena) and Mitchell McEwen, of FL and their mother, Gina McEwen of CT. Granddaughter Liliana, and grandsons, Rian and Cade as well as one great granddaughter Mila. Michael also leaves behind three stepchildren Ellyce Brower (Jacob) of WA, Maria Brower and Nile Brower of FL and three step grandchildren, Indica Webb, and Elliot and Elvira Stormo. Three sisters, Sheila Goodell (Richard) of Bristol CT, Susan Termini (Frank) of Wallingford CT, and Donna Oliver (Jim) of FL as well as many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his brother William E. McEwen, and sister Vicki L. Hayes.McEwen out.In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Michael's name to The Buttonwood Tree, P.O.
