Michael H. Chase

February 16, 1951 — April 26, 2015

Michael Herbert Chase, 64, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his home surrounded by loved ones and family. Born in Caribou, Maine to Howard and Helen Chase in 1951, he attended Framingham South High School in Massachusetts. He then joined the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam-era. Michael worked at Pratt and Whitney for 32 years, where he was also very involved in union activities. He was an active member of the Manchester Church of Christ, where he loved to greet both friends and visitors with a smile and a hug on Sunday Mornings. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Chase, his brother, Bradley Chase of Manchester, and children, Steven and Amy Chase of Vernon, Tina and James Sanzone of Wolcott, and Michelle Chase of Bloomfield, Julio and Daisy Villafane of Hartford, Wandely and Robert Nelson of Hartford, Efrain and Edith Martinez of Glastonbury, and his 19 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Lung Association ( www.lung.org ) or to the Manchester Church of Christ. Calling hours will be held at the Manchester Church of Christ 595 Tolland Turnpike Manchester on Thursday, April 30th from 5 to 8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Friday, May 1st at the Manchester Church of Christ with a gravesite service and military honors to follow at Hillstown Road Veterans Cemetery 180 Hillstown Road Manchester, CT. Holmes Funeral Home Manchester is in care of arrangements.
