Michael J 'Benny' Benevento

Michael J. "Benny" Benevento, 70, of Vernon formerly of Manchester beloved husband of Linda (Sparveri) passed away peacefully Monday, March 7, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Michael was born in Hartford, October 10, 1945, son of the late Joseph and Florence (Orlando) Benevento. He was raised in Manchester, graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1963 and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He owned and operated Michael's Styling Salon in Manchester for 31 years before retiring in 2014. His passion was playing the drums throughout the State of CT. In addition to wife Linda, he is survived by his son, Michael J. Benevento II of Vernon, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph A. and Lorraine Sparveri of Coventry and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial calling hours will be on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Watkins Funeral Home 142 East Center St. Manchester from 4-7 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following at 7 pm. Private burial.
