Maxine Tarver, 68, of Manchester, Connecticut - beloved Wife, cherished Mother, and faithful Servant of God - passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Born in Fort Gaines, Georgia and raised in Hartford, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Clark and James Hall. Maxine was a graduate of Hartford High School (class of '64), where she gained the distinction of becoming Hartford High's first Black female cheerleader during that period. She was a dedicated member of the Full Gospel Interdenominational Church in Manchester, Connecticut since 1976, where she attended and served many years in multiple areas of church ministry, including: Convalescent Home, Greeting Card, Harvest Time Choir, Prayer Tower, Seating, and Worship Singers. Maxine was extremely creative and enjoyed hobbies such as interior decorating, gardening, knitting, painting and sewing. She leaves behind her beloved husband Yancy Tarver of 38 years, and is survived by two cherished daughters Darcelle Ewings and Nicole Ewings, her brother Samuel Hall, grandsons Milan and Joshua, and a treasured host of relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by brothers Ulysses and Melvin Hall, and sister, Betty Hall. Maxine's family will receive family and friends on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Full Gospel Interdenominational Church, 745 Main Street, Manchester, Connecticut. A service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11:00am at the church followed by burial in East Cemetery, Manchester.
