Mary S. Young

Mary (Stewart) Young, 71, of Manchester, CT passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, March 29, 2015. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 40 years, Robert M. Young, who provided loving care for her at their home while her health declined. Mary was born on November 18, 1943 in Wethersfield daughter of the late William and Laura (McCue) Stewart. She graduated from Wethersfield HS in 1961 and St. Joseph College in 1965. She went on to earn her law degree from UCONN and worked as an elections attorney for the State of Connecticut for 30 years. Besides her husband, Mary leaves behind her son William Young and his fianc Eileen Post of Coventry, and her daughter Eileen Mahoney, her husband David, and three beloved grandchildren; Liam, Alana and Katarina Mahoney all of New Hampshire. Mary also leaves her three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Sharon Stewart of Manchester, Robert and Carol Stewart of Maine, James and Sue Stewart of Florida and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends. In addition to her parents Mary was predeceased by her brother William Stewart and her sister, Virginia Buonano. Mary enjoyed biking, tennis, and horseback riding at dude ranches across the country. Calling hours will be on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 4-7 pm at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 7th at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester.
