Mary E. (Ingle) Jaworski, 99, of Manchester, loving wife for sixty-three years to the late Charles A. Jaworski, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at a local convalescent home.
Born in New York City, NY on January 20, 1917, daughter of John and Anne (Iglehart) Ingle, she had lived in Manchester since 1955. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, New Jersey, and the Skidmore College School of Nursing. She worked for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York City before joining the US Army Nurse Corps for service in the European Theater during World War II, followed by service with the US Public Health Service in Florida and West Virginia. She later worked for visiting nurse services in Manchester and East Hartford. After retirement she earned a degree in archaeology from the University of Connecticut.
She enjoyed archaeological digs with the Albert Morgan Archaeological Society, and especially loved interaction with her grandchildren, flower gardening and putting anything into verse. She was a charter member of St. Bartholomew Church, where she served as a lunch mother at the school. She also volunteered for many years at the MACC soup kitchen and homeless shelter. Her service also included a term as a Girl Scout leader.
Mary is survived by her children, Wanda Jaworski of Walnut Creek, CA, Anne Jaworski and husband Tsering Lama of Seattle, WA, Frank Jaworski and wife Sandy of Glenwood, MD, Julia Czarnecki and husband William of Manchester, and Martha Jaworski and husband John Rosato of Boise, ID; grandchildren Jessica (Twohey) Billmeier and her husband Justin, Monica Jaworski, Keith Jaworski and his wife Katherine, Paul Jaworski, Blaine Ericson, Grace Ericson, Paul Ericson and Jay Rosato; great granddaughter Zoe Billmeier and great grandson Zac Billmeier. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Edward Jaworski and wife, Gail of Windsor, a sister-in-law, Suzanne Lott of Enfield, several nieces and nephews, a step-grandson, William Czarnecki, a step-granddaughter, Susan Izzo and her husband John, and two step great granddaughters, Ava and Anella Izzo. She was predeceased by her brothers Edgar and John Ingle and her sisters Lockie Nickles and Anne "Sandy" Klimo. Funeral services are Friday, July 22, at 9:15 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, 180 Oakland Street, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 21, from 4 PM to 7 PM.
