Mary (Montano) Halloran, 93, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late James F. Halloran passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2014. She was born on January 24, 1921 in Laurenzana, Italy daughter of the late Rocco and Angeline (Romano) Montano. Mary was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1939 and was employed with G. Fox & Co. for four years. During WW. II she was employed in Corpus Christie, TX where her husband James was stationed while in the US. Navy. After raising her three children Mary worked at the Traveler's Insurance Company in the accounting department, retiring after eighteen years of service. In her retirement years, Mary enjoyed volunteering at the Manchester Senior Center where she helped members prepare their income tax returns and she also worked at the voting polls in Manchester at election time. She is survived by her daughter, Joan-Marie Permison and her husband, Paul of Union, NJ, her son, Michael Halloran and his wife, Joyce of Ellington and her daughter-in-law, Dale Attias of Sharon, MA. her eight loving grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one niece, Mary Jane and one nephew, Joseph. In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by her son, James H. Halloran and her sister, Caroline McGinnis. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 am in St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St. Manchester. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Bridget Church, 74 Main St. Manchester, CT 06040.
