Obituary

Martin Geoffrey McLain, 67, of Manchester, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Born March 8, 1958, in Arlington, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Rev. Neale McLain and Gladys (Lewis) McLain.

Martin spent his early years in Denville, New Jersey and was a 1975 graduate of Morris Knolls High School. As the son of a pastor, his childhood was shaped by frequent moves as his family traveled to share the word of the Lord as a part of the Church of the Nazarene. Eventually, his father’s ministry brought the family to Connecticut, where Martin’s life took a meaningful turn. It was during a church service that he met his future wife, Linda Conner.

Martin and Linda were married in 1985. After beginning their life together in Cromwell, they settled in Manchester, where they raised their two children. Martin was known for his interest in history, his wonderful sense of humor, and the love he showed everyone he met. A man of great faith and curiosity, he found joy in serving at the Manchester Church of the Nazarene, including singing in the church choir and serving on the board of the Cornerstone Christian School.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his devoted wife, Linda McLain; his children and their spouses, Ian McLain and his wife Emily, and Kristie Lojzim and her husband Josh; his cherished grandson, Silas McLain; and his many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Martin was predeceased by his brother, Kevin McLain.

A memorial service for Martin will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cornerstone Christian School.
