Marlon 'Mark' Brown

Marlon "Mark" Brown, 33, of East Hartford, formerly of Manchester, loving husband of 11 years to Karlia (Wright) Brown died unexpectedly on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital &Med Ctr. Mark was born on January 31, 1984 in Jamaica, the beloved son of Barbara Leslie of East Hartford and the late Egbert Brown. He had been a resident of Manchester for 11 years before moving to East Hartford in 2014. Mark was the owner and operator of Hummingbird Catering in Manchester. His catering company was employed by the Manchester Housing Authority and Mark was also the Dietary Manager for Vernon Manor. He was a member of the Solid Rock Church in Manchester. In addition to his wife Karlia, Mark is survived by their two sons; Jamar Brown and Jaleel Brown, his step-mother Joyce Brown, four brothers; Donald, Norman, Everton and Augustus, his two sisters; Charmaine Reynolds and Paulette Gardner, numerous nieces, nephews and their families and his in-laws Loretta Laing and Jonathan Wright. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at the Salvation Army Church, 661 Main St. Manchester on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5-7 pm with a service to begin at 7 pm and a visitation period on Saturday from 9 am until 10 am. Mark's going home service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10.00 am at the Salvation Army Church followed by burial in East Cemetery, 240 East Center St., Manchester. Watkins Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Solid Rock NT Church of God.
